Voting & Fair Elections

The vote is the backbone of Democracy. We need to encourage every eligible person to use their vote. It is of particular value to establish effective ways to assist people in casting their vote. Voter fraud, that is votes being cast that should not be, could one day be an issue, but historically it is not. The bigger issue is that votes which should be counted are not being cast. Gerrymandering should be eliminated. Districts should not be redrawn, every ten years. They should be drawn by a non-partisan commission. Districts should be drawn by county and municipality, not by demographics.

We can stop voter restrictions and enable fair elections by:

  • Eliminating gerrymandering by political parties
  • County Commissioners elected in home districts
  • Expanding early voting and polling places, eliminating rules that discourage voter participation, and making voting a protected right
